Bell Peppers

I was wondering if anyone else was having problems with bell peppers this year. My plants are large, but have not bloomed or started producing at all. All of my other plants are thriving. Any suggestions?

Where are you? Here it's too early for bell peppers to form. It also depends on what variety you have. Some pepper plants are late blooming varieties, designed to bloom in the fall instead of the summer. When was the last time you fertilized them? Make sure the soil has lots of nutrients.

Thanks. I am in Texas. I have been told that it is not hot enough yet.

We have not been able to start a gardern this year but last year my bell pepper plants got hugh and when they finally bloomed the bloomes would just fall off, in the end i ended up with a few small bell peppers. We had planned to try againg this year but like i said we haven't been able to.

I have just the opposite problem. My bell peppers are very small yet (it's early for them here), but they're starting to bloom already. I'm afraid if they set fruit, they'll use up all their strength before they get full grown. I think I read that if plants don't bloom or don't set fruit, there could be too much nitrogen in the soil.
