Chicken Pox and Shingles

It seems that the chicken pox virus can lurk in the body and can resurface in some people to cause a painful disease called "Shingles". Apparently those who have family members who have had shingles are more likely to have it because it seems to be an immuniological response which is determined by heredity.
Have you ever had chicken pox? would you ever consider having a vaccine to prevent shingles if one were available?
Have you ever had shingles... If so what is it like?
Have your other family members had shingles too?

I have heard a lot about shingles but I have never really known what it is, it has come to light again recently on the Australian Big Brother one of the team got a slight touch of it when he went into the spa in Big Brother...a bit of a worry.

I only heard a lot about measles and chicken pox. I have had chicken pox before when I was thirteen years old. And I was out of school for almost two weeks. I went to my pediatrician. I was given meds and some warm aveeno bath to help control this disease. I took it real easy.

Well, I have had chicken pox before when I was thirteen years old. And I have been out of school for almost two weeks because of that. I went to my pediatrician about that. But I do not think I had shingles at all. I missed everyone at school definitely. Well, I had measle shot, though. My brother did, too. It had spread throughout me and it was really irritating. I would definitely pray for those who has had that type of disease before. I took certain meds and aveeno bath to control chicken pox.
