I think its more about VOLUME, and not about the length of time. Obviously, people already hear too much music or noise too loudly these days, so ofcourse if you hear that for longer then you'd go deaf! It's not much that people are addicted to loud volume, its because they are losing their hearing and need to turn the volume up louder. It's a shame kids are wrecking their eardrums. IT's like they are becoming equivalent to some grannies or granpas who need hearing aids! Usually when I sit on the bus or train, I can hear someone elses music clearly. and for me, that is obviously too loud, if im not even sitting next to them!

This is true alienstar. I have worked before with deafs and this is one reason or cause of their deafness. Listening music through earphones for a long time are really not good. It damages the eardrums, specially if it's loud. And it really causes not headaches.

I also like music a lot but not heavy metal and all.Soft music is too good and hearing for relaxing is more soothing isnt it? but, feel bad when we see all youngsters hearing music on headhones attached to walkman or mobile or any other media and tehy too use it for longer hours which is bad for them
