What's the oddest food you've ever eaten? Are there foods you wouldn't eat?

Have you ever tried a type of food or recipe that you thought would be gross or distasteful and it turned out to be delicious? I have heard that squid is a tasty food. But, I have never tried it. I can't imagine how slimy or gross it would taste. But, it sounds like it would not taste good. Now, I'm sure it tastes good for those who love it. But, I won't even go there! Once I tried oysters and those are slimy. I know that some people love them. But, they make me sick, so I won't try them again. However, I do love oyster soup. But, only because it's very creamy. When I was pregnant, I tried collard greens for the first time and they were delicious. Previously, I had assumed they would not taste good at all. But, I guess if they're cooked and seasoned properly, any food can taste good. What's your best tasting dish? What type of food or recipe or dish would you avoid at all cost? Have you ever tried a dish assuming it would taste good and instead, it tasted gross?

I don't know about Gecko (it's a lizzard) ? But my favorite is prime rib and lobester tail with baked patoe and a good fresh salad. I'm very open to try new things, the one thing I don't like is anything with carroway seeds, they get stuck in my teeth and I don't care for the flavor. When I was young my mom would make ham salad sandwiches, she's gone now so I never knew how she made it, I craved one about 3 months ago and tried to make up some, using caned ham, it was a disaster and I ended up throwing it ll out! And I think I'm a good cook!!!! LOL

Not a small lizard, it's a big one with around half meter. In Chinese we call is four-legged-snake, but it's not a snake, just something mistreat as snake long ago.

The oddest food I eaten before is something like Iguana/Gecko. I not sure what actually it is, but I really try it before.... Squid and oyster is normal seafood here, which can see, buy and eat everywhere...
