According to the good ole Webster's ditionary: Right brain: creativity and intuitive thinking Left brain: analytical and logical thinking or check this site out. http://www.funderstanding.com/right_left_brain.cfm this kinda explains with a little more detail. Good question.

just read the responses above if you want to know what side of the brain is responsible for our skills & intellectual development. if you want to know the mechanical function, here it is. the left brain controls all the parts on the right side of your body. & the right brain controls all the parts on the left side. ;)

The left side of the brain is the seat of language and processes in a logical and sequencial order. The right side is more visual and processes intuitively, holistically and randomly. That's what I remember reading it somewhere. I hope this helps. I also read about how left handed persons use these functions of the brains but that will be another topic Happy myLotting buddy!
