The covering letter is a chance to introduce yourself and usually the first thing that a prospective employer reads. One should always send cover letter with CV unless a job advert specifically ask otherwise. If anyone sending an application form it is not usual to need to send a covering letter(unless they ask U to ). If U do not apply for jobs with a well written cover letter, your curriculum vitae may never be read.
As with the CV, it is important to use quality , heavy A4 paper, and make sure it is only A4 page long.It is important to write concisely & simply-do not go into too much detail and remember that any evidence will be backed up by your CV.Do not use coloured paper.Last but not least it should be neat & clean and legible.

This is good information and may come in handy sometimes. We do sent letters intending to get a job or a project. Cheers!!
