Tweezing or waxing...which do you prefer?

The perfect? brow - It's so hard to find the ideal shape for your eyebrows...and so many options! Full, thin, straight, arched...how do you choose?

Calm down folks, I was referring to your eyebrows! Some people have a knack for tweezing, others prefer to wax. Finding the perfect shape for your eyes is difficult--most people can look in the mirror and still not get where their brow bone is! Here's the link to a video on YouTube I found: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21GkrcaRfTc. I prefer to leave it to Patty, the woman who does my brows (and whatever else I need waxed!)

LOL! Ugh! I wish I had a choice. On my Mom's side of the family is this pesky hereditary disease where we start off with already very little eyebrows and the older we get, the less and less we have as they slowly fall out. So, no plucking or waxing for me. I am 35 and have so few hairs in my eyebrows left that I pretty much can't go out into public without have drawn mine on, unless I cover myself with a baseball cap or another hat. It is a pain, it's embarrassing, it's annoying, it's time consuming and if one more person tells me that I get to experiment with different eyebrow styles and that I am lucky, I will dot their freaking eyes! LOL! Trust me! When you do one and mess up the other 10 different times in the morning and end up taking 15 minutes to draw your eyebrow on...nope...that is the farthest thing from luck! LOL! I am actually hoping that science catches up with hair restoration or transplants. They already have a surgical eye lash transplant procedure where they take a hair from your head with the folicles and implant them into your eyelashes and wah lah! You have eyelashes. So, if there is ever a time when they figure out how to do it for one's eyebrows...I am so there! I don't swim anymore because it is so embarrassing to go under the water with eyebrows and to come up without! Yippy! Look at the browless wonder. Like magic! LOL! Whew! Sorry to vent! To answer your question, I don't know which I would prefer. I have never had the option! LOL1

Wow! One of the teachers when I was in school (and she's STILL there 25 years later!) used to draw them on every morning...lopsided! Apparently she used to shave her eyebrows in the 50s when she was young and they never grew back in! I'm surprised they haven't developed a surgical treatment for eyebrows yet--eye lashes seem to more dangerous to me. And yes, you are allowed to vent...I never thought of someone in your situation! Thanks for sharing and educating us!

LOL! I am waiting for them to come up with a surgical procedure! LOL! I have considered the permanent makeup tattoos but, my natural hair color is light blond and, right now, as you can see from my avatar, I color my hair brown so, I need to accommodate for that by using a brown eyebrow powder. BTW...I don't use eyebrow pencil as it actually makes them too severe, harsh, obviously drawn in. I like mine to look a little more natural. Anyway, thank you for letting me vent! LOL! And, my pleasure on educating people here! LOL!

When I do get around to fixing up that part of my face, I usually tweeze. I would have to go to the salon for waxing. It would be a pathetic sight if I tried to get my brows waxed. I'm not much for pain. The local news would show a report of hysterical screaming woman fleeing local salon, child hanging on for dear life and hand firmly strapped to her brusied forehead. That would be me. I don't fancy wax, much! LOL!

Getting your eyebrows waxed. - Although some women can't stand it, eyebrow waxing is over in a few moments; it's the afterwards that makes all the difference! Patty (the woman I see) applies gentle pressure to the newly waxed area and when they're all done, additionally applies an aloe lotion to help further cool my skin.
I don't usually have a problem...it's when she plucks those little straight hairs that have me climbing off the bed! The woman I see is wonderful about making sure the wax isn't too hot, and after she pulls that strip, her finger goes on the area and applies a gentle pressure to help ease the pain. She also uses this great aloe that cools my skin! It's when she plucks those odd little hairs growing in the middle of the brow that I nearly fly up and out of there...now THAT hurts!

I don't do either. Never have. Fortunately for me I've got two eyebrows, not one that grows straight across and they have a natural arch of their own. I see no reason for pulling hair out of any part of my body. It will be falling out on its own soon enough.

You are so fortunate--my brows grow in thick and unruly--and with my small eyes, the combination doesn't look so hot! There's so much hair that you can barely see the arch, but at least all this waxing has largely eliminated the problem of growing together (not quite there, but it rarely grows now).

I prefer tweezing. I have had them waxed before and I think it hurts like a b!tch. I will stick to pulling them out one at a time.

Wow--it goes away quickly for me! It actually hurts when she's prepping my brows--plucking out those straight hairs hurts like a b1tch! Thanks for sharing!

I tried, but it never looks right--either lopsided or one side is thinner than the other. I can also never find the right shape. That's why I always wore bangs when I was younger--once I got them waxed, my hair dresser said I had to grow them out (of course, she just cut them again in March). Thanks for sharing!
