it was quite some time ago when I first found out about "cold stone creamery" [http://www.coldstonecreamery.com/]from Oprah show. I being a die hard ice cream fan wanted to try it immediately but too bad, it's only in U.S.A and I being in winnipeg had no chance. Then I found out about "marble slab creamery" [http://www.marbleslab.com/index.html] a Canadian version of coldstone. But there was more bad news, marble slab has no outlet in winnipeg and they were planning to open one soon. Since then I had been counting days :) and yippie, last week I received the announcement in mail that they've opened in winnipeg and guess what? I also received free coupons. I just can't wait to visit them today and I think I'm gonna eat a lot. How about other people? any experiences yet?

Yes, I've been there... well, not to the Winnipeg location, but to others. We have both Cold Stone and Marble Slab within a few miles of my home. I think I like Cold Stone's ice cream a little better, but both are great! I like getting the homemade cones/cups and having a few of the fruit and nut toppings mixed into vanilla ice cream.

Thanks for the topping idea :) I will also start with vanilla and fewer toppings. I've found out that Cold stone is in Grand forks so may be I'll try it next time I go to U.S. and then I'll be able to compare both.

We don't have one near where I live now, but I've been to Cold Stone Creamery several times and ohmy, it is absolutely decadent! Make sure you don't eat before you go as you will definitely get your fill of ice cream and toppings, if your Marble Slab Creamery is anything like our Cold Stone.

I am nowhere near Winnipeg, so I can't say I've been there, Nice to see news from Canada popping up here on MyLot. It sounds like a good place, i this discussion started in "ice cream." I love ice cream!
