The largest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity is no longer socialism. It is, instead, the ambitious, arrogant, unscrupulous ideology of environmentalism. For a century, an ambitious, arrogant, unscrupulous knowledge class of social planners, scientists, intellectuals, experts and their left-wing political allies have arrogantly given themselves the right to rule by the virtue of their superior expertise in achieving the highest social progress by means of state planning. Intellectual left was handed the ultimate salvation, environmentalism. Now the experts will regulate your life in the name of Earth itself. This is why Environmentalism must be fought with the same vigor as Socialism and Communism.

Let me try putting this as politely as possible.
Just because a few rich people decided to turn environmentalism into something they could sell doesn't mean caring about the environment itself is bad. Carbon emissions are actually more harmful to people than say...the weather. Since if we burn cleaner fuel we have better gas mileage which hurts our pockets less.
Progress, to me, is learning to live -better-. But never have I ever said that people shouldn't have a choice.
Nearly any idea if bad in excess. Socialism took the idea of caring for your fellow human being and ran too far with it for example.
I'm quite disturbed by this trend people're having by blaming things...in this case, an entire movement, when actually many people have simply been misled by the siren call of people who could make profits from an idea which has actually been around longer than they have.
Fine, call me a new generation hippy..I really don't care any more.
No one should run our lives, and no if we keep destroying natural resources we won't destroy the planet, in the end we'll probably simply destroy ourselves. Nature will go on without us. When I say, "saving the world" I mean, our world, as human beings.
The thing we need to fight is more misinformation than anything else -- like those bogus science reports, as RedYellow said. But also lies many governments in the world tell to the people of their countries, lies corporations tell us...etc, THAT is where the true problem lies.

This will mean getting serious about challenging bogus scientific studies that aren't real science. The biggest problem I've found is that reporters lie about what science studies say and mean. Whenever any reporter says a study says such and such, we have to look up the actual study. Then we can defeat these liars.

Have you been looking into the recent media scandals which have been coming to light? Like the Pentagon Propaganda program...and corporate entity ties to various media stations, and most particularly Rupert Murdoch himself?
Just asking, ^_^' it's kind of particularly fresh on my mind...misinformation for profit, again.

Actually, the majority of environmentalists are also socialists, so it is the classic double threat.
They are all elitists, and the leader of the IPCC is Indian, which means that most likely he is a Muslim and therefore has a vested interest in the destruction of our economy, along with the European economies as well.
When anyone cares more about unproven theories and political agendas then about the welfare of people, then there is a serious disconnect from morality in these people.
Everything these elitists do... from environmental issues to social issues is geared towards one single minded goal, and that is the complete control and enslavement of mankind.
That is the idea behind universal health care and all of these other social programs.... to make people so dependent on the government that before we know it the government controls everything that we do, say, or think.
Green is just another tool in the arsenal that is being used against us.
