have u ever take care to the poor?

everyday ,We can see the poor in the corner of streets .I want to help them have a better life,but I have nothing .All the thing I can do is give them some coins .And u ,Have u ever take care to the poor ? and have u ever stop ur work to help them ?

One thing that I do is to encourage young people to choose career so that they can contribute more to the welfare of the poor people, and not just concerned for their welfare. I know that I had not been taught to think like that, but I thought I can encourage younger generations to take up such work. I wonder if that's one way of indirectly contributing to their welfare.
