How do you scratch those cards?

Some of the cards we use to scratch here at our pl - These are just pre-paid cards that we avail when we need to have some credits for our phones in order to send messages and to call others as well. They also come in different denominations and often have promos too.

Hello to everyone again! I just noticed this when my brother bought some prepaid cards for our cellphones. He for himself and mine to use in participating in some contest shown on television. When I was scratching my prepaid card, I scratched off everything that covered the code which I had to input on my phone to avail. I noticed my brother did the same thing with his prepaid card, he scratched off everything too. Then I recalled friends of mine who play online games. Some of the items there in the game can be bought by purchasing game cards that would avail them points which in turn, they can use to buy such items in the game. My friend just scratched off what was needed in order to view the codes and not the entire thing that covered it. Well, my reason for scratching everything off when it comes to those cards is due to not being in a hurry. I just have the habit of scratching everything off and even blowing off those tiny bits left after scratching afterwards. How about you guys? Any reason for the way you scratch off those cards that you usually encounter at a daily basis? How do you scratch those cards? Be it prepaid cards from network subscribers, raffle cards or anything that you have to scratch off? Just enough to view what's needed to be viewed or you also scratch off everything even though that you can already see what you have to see? You may share some by uploading images of them. Thank you and good day to you all

internet card - Blast internet card is a prepaid card used to access the internet.
hi! Well I think we have the same weird(to some) habit.^_^ I scratch the silver thing off too. I scratch all of them and I dont stop until I get every little bit of speck on it.LOL I brush it off too and wipe it clean. But if Im really in a hurry I scrath in the middle first so the numbers, letters, codes can be seen and I use it immediately but afterwards when Im not in a hurry anymore I scratch all of the silver sticker/powder that was left when I used the card.^_^ I do have cousins and friends who just scratch enough to get to the numbers inside. Another weird habit of mine is that I keep their used cards. No reason at all I just do. I dont throw used cards right away too. I dont know why I just do too. I only throw them when they are already too many or too old. Otherwise they would just be seen lying around my work space.LOL I sometimes keep the cards that are not scratched clean just to save for later. Now I think thats even weirder.LOL But then again, thats just me.^_^

Hahaha Even though I didn't mention the things that you have enumerated when it comes to such cards, I also do those things Scratch everything off, blow or wipe it clean, keep it aside or most often, you can see it lying around in bundles. However, I recalled a friend of mine doing the same thing, I asked why he keeps such cards. My friend stated that, every time the network reorganizes its system, the previously distributed prepaid cards are recycled when it comes to codes. It is expected that people would throw cards away after availing their services so, it seems plausible to recycle the codes to be used again which they would designate again for particular amount to be credited. He claims to have struck upon luck when he tried to use an old cell phone card. Not sure about it though myself. Thanks for sharing!

You've also passed the those internet cards too ? We use to have lots of those and my mom just decided that we were better off with a Direct Service Line connection when it comes to the internet so one day, when I got home, my brother was at the computer playing an online game. The recent cards that I've been scratching are those promo cards that I have mentioned in the initial post. Registered all those forty promo cards just in case we could win something nice

when i was still using prepaid cards, i scratch them the same way you do. i scratch everything. my reason is, i collect the prepaid cards that i used. if i don't scratch all of it, it will leave a mark on the other prepaid cards on my drawer.

I haven't noticed that before... maybe because I do scratch them all off which would really make reasons to leave marks on other prepaid cards that I stack when I use to.. What kind of marks would those be? Thanks for responding!

Hmmm.....good question. I haven't scratched anything of this sort for ages since I don't used prepaid but post paid. But I'm also like you, I scratch everything off & blow of / clear off the tiny bits as it seems more tidy that way. If possible, I'd use a coin & not my nails to scratch it off unless there's nothing available

Even when you are in a hurry to use the codes within those scratch cards, you still take everything off for it to be clear and tidy? I haven't scratched any cards myself count to think of it...

Before, I also have the habit of scratching it all off, to the last bit. But later these days, when I scratch prepaid phone cards, I only scratch it to the point that I can see all the numbers. I am not fond of scratch it all off now. Maybe it is because I have other things to attend to like texting my girlfriend, which is the reason why I bought the prepaid card in the first place. And before, I used coins to scratch those cards, so as not to damage it. But now, I even use my finger nails. Maybe because now I know that those numbers cannot be easily erase when you scratch it with anything you have. Now I know how strong it is so I know what things I can use to scratch it.

I also noticed my change of scratching those scratch cards when I have more important things to attend to too You and your partner happens to have the same network provider for your mobile phones? Almost most couple I know subscribe to Sun Cellular's.. availing the unlimited offers which often would be call rather than text but, I assume they'd do send SMS as well.. You use your nails? I often have a hard time cleaning my nails when I use mine to scratch those cards. I guess I have gotten used to using coins than anything else..

Well for some internet prepaid cards I actually don't scratch them. I actually sometimes take off the whole tape where the scratch thing is. I could do it before but now I don't think there are still cards that are like that. Usually I would scratch the whole thing off because sometimes the numbers are not clear enough when there are a lot of those scratched bits left. I also blow it off because I want it to look clean.

You actually take the whole tape where the thing which we have to scratch is? WOuld it be risky, you might tear off the codes as well. But, you did imply that you do that before so it means that you were able to do it with ease. Card now-a-days, I just not sure if you can do that. I also scratch everything off when the codes are not that clear.

I too have a prepaid (Cell) card. I am also using the Prepaid cell phone. When ever i need to re-charge my mobile, i use to buy the recharge coupon, scratch it, i can able to see the 16 degit or 20 degit numbers printed on it, as per the instruction from the reverse side of the said prepaid scratch recharge card, -- (a) I can call the toll free numbers and type them the scratched numbers and press some of the keys as per the automated informations through the customer care. (that toll free numbers voice recorded informations) -- (b) as per the infromation from that, i will type the entire 16 or 20 degit and also type some of the secret number prefix and suffix keys as per the instruction given in the same prepaid recharge coupon. When I any of the above my Prepaid card account will get credited to the amount of recharge as per the recharge coupon. In case if you feel that you are facing some problem with this manual recharge vouchers, you can ask the retainer to make the "Easy Re-charge" to your number, if you give the amount to the retainer, that how much you need to recharge, he will do the same through his cell phone, it will automatically credited to your cell phone account, and you will get the SMS shows that your account will get credited to the amount which you have given, and the also you total available talk time and the validity period will be appeared. Regarding the Games and etc.. on recharges, this may be the promotional offers has been provided by the mobile operators, use to offer in seasonal basis. In case if any, the same also get it updated along with your Credit of the prepaid card. (Its like the full talk time offer)

So you refer to those credits as re-charge while here at our place, we refer to them as re-loads. Such offers are also similar to what you have described and there are also promos that can only be availed depending on a particular network provider. When it comes to scratching to see those recharge cards, do you scratch off everything to see the codes or just enough to see the needed codes? Thank you
