Are you Superstitious?

I'm not particularly superstitious, but my mom was big time! For example. We could never put new shoes on the table! Anyone ever heard of that. When my kids do it, I explain to them how Grandma felt about it, and they usually take them off. lol Couldn't open an umbella in the house. I admit I do adhere to this one, although its kinda silly to do so anyway don't ya think? Oh and a good one: she would never give someone a compliment without saying "God bless you" after it. Like..."Your so pretty, God bless ya" or...."Her son is so smart, God bless him" and if someone did it without saying God bless you, she would add it herself! Anyone ever heard of this before? Do any of you have any odd or common superstitions that you abide by? Or know anyone else that is superstitious? Does anyone know how any of these superstitions originated? by the way, I have 2 black cats and they cross my path constantly!! lol :)
