Are You A Juicer?

A friend of mine gave me a really nice Juicer. I have always wanted one but would never spend the money for it. Gosh, they are expensive gadgets. It didn't come with a recipe book, like it takes a rocket scientist to learn how to use it? Are you a juicer? Do you have recipes for juicing? If you do, would you share your recipes with me? I've heard that juicing is really healthy so I would like to try it but I would like to know, do you have to peel oranges before you put them into the juicer? I know you don't have to peel apples and other things. What's your best juice recipe?

Oh juicing is a wonderful thing, I have a friend who was told he had cancer and only had a short time to live, he was told by someone else to virtually live on carrot, beetroot, and ginger juice which he did and 10years later he is still with us, here is a site that might help you. http://www.doctoryourself.com/juicing_2.html

Oh - thanks lilaclady, for the website address. I truly believe eating the right foods can cure anything. The body is a wonderful design and can heal itself without man made medication, if we eat the right foods. I believe in that highly. Thanks again for the website. I'm going to check it our right now!

Well I wouldn’t say I am a juicy person really but juices are a necessary part of my family’s diet. In this Indian summer, not only are they cool, they are quick and convenient and healthy and filling too. I buy any type of seasonal fruits and make juices or smoothies out of them. I will put cut mangoes, sweet lemons, watermelons, grapes whatever is there in the fridge, inside the juicer, some water, pinch of salt, some sugar and the most wonderful juices come out. I also make banana smoothies and milk shakes. We all love them.

I try to be a juicer, though I don't juice as often as I would like to. The only recipe I have is the one I have been using for years. It is carrots, celery, and romaine. Sometimes I put cucumber in it as well. I have used radish as well as spinach (instead of the romaine), and parsley. The radish makes it a bit stronger then my kids like so we stopped using it. Yes, you will need to peel the oranges, though try to peel it as thin as possible to keep as much white on the orange as a lot of the nutrients lay towards the surface of the orange. Oh yeah, apple and orange makes a good juice drink too, though I haven't made that in quite a while.

I have a juicer but i dont use it very often. it isnt necessary to peel the oranges before you juice them .at least not in the type of machine that I have. you just cut them in half and put them on the machine and it does the rest. There are differnet types of juicers out here though.

I've had two types of juicers and both of them required peeling the oranges first. My favorite blend is 2 carrots, 1 apple and some ginger. The apple sweetens the carrot juice and the ginger adds some zing. Another one I like it orange and grapefruit. I know you can buy that at the store, but it's sooooo much better when it's fresh.
