Joining trafficprogramme site, a waste of time!

I joined two to three traffic programme sites. It is more than a month since i joined. But never got a referral for any of my ptc sites, despite my best efforts! Is it a waste of time to look for referrals from such traffic sites? I wonder what they really do!
