Hie Ceciliamilgate, thank you for sharing and "way to go" you are definitely on the way to a good optimal control of your blood sugar and healthy living. And it's better still if you use grapeseed oil instead of olive oil as it could increase the good cholesterol and lower the bad one much more than the olives. Furthermore it has a relatively high smoke point and antioxidants too; and you could use it in some many ways. My parents are taking it and it shows promising results. The fructose in the fruits has the ability to elevate the blood sugar though, you could still enjoy the fruits but do take them sparingly and in moderation amount. It's always the portion that matters and by all means - exercise :)

It's always the first step is the hardest but no matter how small it is, it's a beginning of a change and age does not really matter. My mum is 68 this year and she also has a heart condition but she still tries although her blood sugar is not always perfect. Don't have to join a gym class or health club, just a simple morning/evening walk of about 30 mins/day will indeed help along the way. It's always good to do at your own pace and in a fun way that is bring along friends or family members to join you. Oh! Yes, they do remind you and give you the support. And in this era, anyone with diabetes should have a blood sugar testing device and record all the results. It definitely will help you in understanding your blood sugar patterns better and you could easily identify which type of food that will elevate your sugar further or vice versa. This will surely trigger you to think twice when you see a raised blood sugar. All this will sound like a lot of work and tedious but as you get started you would be in tune in no time and will also feel so much better of the whole well being as you move along. You would definitely will see the difference :)

Yeah I guess that would definitely cut the cholesterol levels in your body. My doctor suggested that I eat more green leafy vegetables too it does help lower down and cut down on meat products as much as possible.
