How do you deal with exam stress?

I have an important exam coming up this week and I'm stressing over it. Normally I'm pretty calm when it comes to examinations, but this time I have to pass the exam to graduate, so I'm nervous! Any tips on how I can stay calm and focused during the test?

well, examinations are really tough. there is a reason for you to be nervous. it is normal. but no need to freak out. the reason why we freak out is we feel uncertain and we are unsure if we prepared for the examination. just review, read and re read and teach other students about what you have read. this increases retention of knowledge and you iron out vague concepts. If you were able to review all the things that you will be assessed on, i am sure the nervousness will be there... but it is more of an adrenalin rush, an excitement because you know you are well prepared for the test. Thanks for the kind comment! This is the first time I'm this nervous, normally it's more like "excitement". That's why I'm stressing a bit now.

When I get an exam, I will take a deep breath first, and then talk to myself that I can do it, I can do it, I can do it many times.

Don't cram and don't stay up too late reviewing. I've been there, I didn't sleep before I took the exam then I blacked-out and couldn't remember anything. Get enough rest and everything will come around. Don't panic most especially if you know you studies because the answers will come if you relax.

Yeah, I never stay up late to study. That doesn't work. It's beter to sleep than try studying when you're tired.

I try not to stress. I eat out and try to act like I don't have an exam the next day. Eating out for dinner or lunch really does help calm me down... ever tried it?

Oh, that's a nice tip! I never tried eating out. Often I do go shopping one or two days before the exam though, to relax a little.

when u walk in just take a deep breath and relax and just let it all come 2 u. i no it might seem hard but it actualy easy and best of luck

Well,I think you can relax and have a walk outside ,being close to nature.Just don't think about the exam all the time.Besides,you can listen to music,watch some interesting movies and so on.Last,just tell yourself you can make it!Trust yourself!o(n_n)o...

Just do as you do before.Nervous is no use for your exam.Maybe you can listen some soft music which could make you comfortable.Or you can read some books which could encourage your spirit. And take some deep breath before you take your exam.

okok.. first thing first.. take a DEEEEEEEP breath!! Lol, don't panic. Turn ur nervousness and stress into motivation.. to make u study harder or maybe smarter for this exam. Just don't let it overcome u that u become so panic and fear that u can never finish studying. Before the exam, just have a mini quiz amongst ur friends, shoot whatever question u have doubts or ans the questions ur friends asked (u will probably remember more clearly if u are provided with the correct answers that u had answered wrongly).. Try not to hold ur book till the last moment, makes u more nervous. Have a good night rest before the exam. Good luck!!

Thanks for the tips. The one about the mini quiz doesn't work for me though, it makes me feel more stressed when my friends mention things that I can't remember.
