Does Becoming Old Bother You?

Sometimes, we allow certain things to bother us more than others.
Old age, or getting old, never bothered me before, in fact, I've always looked forward to getting older. There are certain aspects of getting older that are a definate plus. Still, there are a few things about getting older that have lately begun to bother me.
The bigget thing that is bothering me lately is not being able to do some of the things I used to do. It's not that I can't do them, but I can't do them with the ease I used to.
I have also started being concerned about falling.
That old commercial, "Help. I've fallen and I can't get up", is something I think about more now than I used to. I guess it's because I fell (from doing something stupid), and it took me almost a month to recoup.
Does becoming older bother you? Do you have fears of getting older? Are you doing anything special to stay healthy?

I don't have any fears about aging. I am embrassing every moment of it as it happens. for me it is a blessed experince. i know with age will come some things i will no longer be able to do, but i am ok with that too. what is better then having those you love running around trying to make the old lady happy!! LOL

I am very blessed to have a wonderful family. to have children who i know will make sure that mommy is going to be taken cared as i get older. I think that it's always comes full circle. you take care of your children until they can take care of themselves. and then you children take care of you because you can no longer take care of yourself. funny really.
I am embracing every moment of every single day

It truly is a blessing (for the most part) momma. I hope you know how lucky you are to have those who love you running around you - now - and when you get older.
You know I don't, and most likely won't have that luxury so I hope you let them know how important they are.
The older we get, the more of some of those 'little fears' begin to pop into our head. Not actually fear, but little thoughts that we have no control over.
I'm soooo happy about getting older, but still, there are a few things I 'fret' over every now and then.

Yes it bothers me a lot, I'm not that healthy and I'm skinny. I'm 27 years old and single I still don't have plans of getting married, my target is 5 years from now maybe. I'm scared if I wasn't able to get marry and live alone because I really don't want to be a loner. I want somebody beside who will comfort me. Help me in chores and I want to walk with someone in the morning while sunset shines.
I'm taking vitamin C to boost my immune system. I have allergic rhinitis so I see to it that I drink Vitamin C because I easily get flu out of dust. i drink milk or chocolate every night which high in calcium because I have scoliosis my bone is not that strong since I was in high school but I don't experience fracture.
I wish someday I can get marry and stay old with the one I love. ....

Hi mialei, The same comment for you is made above. The body is a miraculous machine that can heal itself from almost any disease or problem, IF we eat right, exercise, and have a good mental attitude. You are so young. If you start now and find out the causes of your problems and what foods can boost your immune system, you won't have to worry so much about it later, when you DO get older.
I'm three times your age and attribute my health to a good diet, exercise and a positive attitude. The only little aches and pains I have at the end of the day is from doing too much of the things I should either do slower, or shouldn't do at all.

Yes getting older does bother me. I am 40 now and have had diabetes for 2 years. My husband is 41 and has cholesterol problems. We have to watch what we eat and try to exercise more regularly. My bones already ache when I'm sitting down for more than 30 minutes or so at work (that is not a good sign). I feel it's only going to get worse. Aches and pains seem to be a fact of life as you get older but I don't look forward to that at all! There is nothing about old age that I am looking forward to. I have a good job and have enough free time outside of that to keep me occupied. If I was retired I think I'd go mad with boredom. My hubby and I have already planned to go on a 6 month world tour in our mid 50s. Hopefully we will still have the energy to do it then! Here's hoping we even live that long LOL!

You're still young enough anonymili to change things. Diet, exercise, a good mental attitude and hobbies that keep your body and mind healthy should be your main focus at this point in your life. The older you get, the harder it will be to change, so do it now.
The little aches and pains can be dealt with if you start dealing with them now.
