Computer Power: Hidden Computer is HERE!

Today's computers are many times more powerful than yesterday's. That's a given. But every once in a while, that fact hits me in the face like a fish jumping out of a pail and slapping me in my bubble bath. Computing power is becoming a thing taken for granted.

It was bad enough when desk top computers overtook the computing power of the Apollo Spacecraft that took men to the moon. It is now used to play Doom and kvetch about the high price of gas on MyLot.

Cell phones that fit within the palm of an adult's hand can out power a mainframe from computing past that took up the inside of a large building. They yap in almost every American pocket and annoy. We have supercomputers driving people nuts by hiding in pockets and yapping 50 cent tunes?
