You may no longer need paper coupons for your store.

For those of you who love to save money and for those major coupon clippers, here is an interesting bit of news. I don't know how long this has been going on but did you know that there are sites online that you can go to and click which coupons you want and then you can link that savings coupon to your store card. I have a kroger card and I know that I can do that with my kroger card. I don't know what other stores are presenting this option but I think this is a wonderful idea. I love to use coupons but they are such a hassle...clipping, haveing them all over the place (my husband gets sick of seeing them around the house..lol) digging through them to make sure I have them with me, and keeping seperate the ones I have found the items for. I can't wait to use my card with the savings already on it without having to hand the cashier a ton of coupons. The only thing I have a question about is how do I know what coupons I have on there, I guess I could probably print something out online showing what coupons I have loaded onto my card, that way when I go shopping I will know which ones I have loaded onto my card. Do you think having this option to no longer use paper coupons is a good idea? Will you do this if your preferred store offers this? If you are interested, here is one of the links where I know you can load savings up onto your store card and see if your card has this option. Thanks in advance for any response, have a fantastic day everyone! http://www.shortcuts.com/?promo=0210151&ncid=aolsht00170000000005

ok...thats really cool. i have a Kroger card and you know what? as soon as i get to my computer im gonna link it cause dang i love the idea of that. you just have to remember which ones are linked and which ones are not linked so you know what you can get that will apply to the coupon. this is great. thank you so much for sharing. i think this is an excellent idea because its going to help the environment some. less paper to print and save. i love it when people come up with great ideas.

Yes, I think it is a great idea too! Okay, so I just checked and you can print out on one piece of paper which coupons you have have loaded onto your card, which is still using paper and maybe 3 or 4 or even 5 ..just depending on how many coupons you have loaded onto your card, BUT, I believe it will be so much easier having one full sheet of paper instead of a bunch of coupons to sort through and organize. I figure I can have this paper saying what coupons I have loaded onto my card, and simply highlight them in the store when I find that particular item and have it in my cart...that way, I will know for sure which coupons I have used and have not. Also I can compare my receipt with the items I have highlighted in order to make sure the store took the proper amount off of my bill. Thanks for your response and happy uploading!!

nothing wrong with that. you probably had a shopping list in the first place so to save on paper just add your items that you don't have coupons for to the back of your print out as well. that way you don't forget anything. or even write your shopping list in its entirety on the back and cross off as you go along. thats what i would do. the more paper you save the less trees get cut down, the less trees you cut down the more we would have to recycle. its a win for you, me and the environment.

I'm not sure this is such a good idea. The stores know too much about our buying habits the way it is. I may be paranoid, but I don't think I'd do it. Also, what about people who don't have internet access? There are a few of those, still!

Okay, interesting...so what would it matter if the store knows about your buying habits? Also, for those who don't have internet access, simple, they just continue to use the paper coupons. =) Thanks for your response, have a great day.

Well that is too bad, hopefully it will be something that will expand and eventually be offered in your area. Have a great day and thanks for your response.

We don't have a Kroger store around here anywhere. None of the stores have any kind of card that you would use so I would not be able to use anything like that. It could be an interesting idea though.

I don't think they do that here. My store cards link with nothing. I think it's a very good idea. How do you get the coupons on your card?

You simply go to the listed site and there is a list of store cards. For example, I picked kroger (that is the store I have a card for) you then enter your card number and it links the coupons to your card. =) I can't wait to use it. Thanks for the response, have a great day.

I am really bummed about it because I am really into coupons. My May monthly saving was huge. It was some where between 1300-1600 usd but I have used the digital coupons that the stores offer and found that they don't always work. When questioning the store they really don't care. I just don't see a way for manufactures to do this if they did it would become so costly that I don't think we could afford the product even with a coupon. Plus I would be so bummed without coupon trains and trading. So I hope that there isn't a cheap way for them to take my paper coupons. I think I would have to boycott and only buy generic. Yes I am a die hard couponder (if that is even a word) lol

I don't see them taking paper coupons away, but then again, who knows..lol I have not used this process yet, but I am looking forward to it and myself think it is a great idea, but yet, like I said, I have not used it in the store so I can't say I have not had any problems with it, I hope I don't have problems with it and I hope that it works out great because it seems like a wonderful idea to me. Thanks for the response, have a great day!
