When I saw the number under the facebook.com interest I was rather surprised. The number of discussions counts 253176 ?!! How come this is so high? Is facebook really that popular? Even the interest "watching television" only got a bit more than 40000 discussion here on mylot. I personally, also got a facebook account, and although there are many fun applications, I think it becomes a bit of boring after a while. I only go check my facebook once and a while to play some online poker or to see if they're any interesting events in my neighbourhood to happen. So what about you? Do you've also got an account on facebook? What you like or dislike about it? Or do you think facebook is just a temporary mania?

I had an account at Facebook because an old acquaintance invited me there. I had gotten setup, entered in a bunch of interests (sound familiar)and started building on friendships. Then I found an interesting video that connected the founder of Facebook along with some other head honchos of Facebook with Government entities and a secret organization that is formed in league with the CIA and is there to collect information from the Internet. But this video also showed the Service agreement that I read, but this drove it crystal clear how many liberties I signed over and what I allowed to be recorded and shared with third parties. And there is more. So I bailed Pronto. Beamer 23

I have yet to start a discussion about Facebook, I haven't thought of a question to ask or a point to make, bu I have replied to plenty of discussions. It seems that Facebook is about as popular as MySpace, if not a bit more.
