Have you ever had a bad experience with your optometrist?

My husband had new glasses prescribed last year, and when they arrived he told me he couldn't see through them at all. I told him he was being silly and he should persevere - but after a few weeks he took them back to the optometrist, who didn't even re-examine him but merely said she'd send the glasses away to be made weaker. When they came back, my husband was still unable to see anything - so then sought a second opinion. Imagine our horror to find he actually had bad cataracts - and no glasses in the world would have helped him! He was sent for a cataract operation, and now does not need glasses at all. I was wondering whether anything similar had happened to anyone else ...

It's a worry, balasri. I hope your current glasses are the proper prescription and you are happy with them.

my partner bought reading glasses at a $2 shop THINKING they would help him read more clearly, after a few days-weeks he couldnt read without them. now it costs more $$ to get the right glasses that he didnt need to start with.
