I just got a forwarded email (we all get them) where you have to send to X amount of people for good luck or something. Nothing new there. Except this particular one had the wording, "Something good will happen to you at 1:00-4:00 PM tomorrow. It could be anywhere. Get ready for the biggest shock in your life." Now, I actually have a function I'm going to tomorrow at that exact time. There will be a variety of community service information booths there. Wonder what "shocking" thing I'll find there.

Lol.. ahh chain letter emails. Honestly, I dont really believe in them because I've reposted/resent hundreds of those things and nothing it said has ever come true/happened. My friends and even people I dont know spam me with them still though

Hello, and thanks for being the first to respond.
I don't believe in chain letters, either, but sometimes I do forward them, if I happen to like something in the message or visuals connected with it. Generally, I'll delete the part about forwarding to others or something bad will happen. Why perpetuate the myth?

LOL I guess with technical change as humans, we adapt. I enjoy getting emails from my family and friends but really feel bad when sent one of these tomes of dread unless you open your address book and forward. I usually just delete these things and then feel guilty for a moment that I didn't send it on.
Last week on Facebook I got one that was cute however, in that the rant included the dire warning that "Whether I sent this on to fifteen or more of my friends in the next 3 minutes or not...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN.

Hate those, hate them even more when they're from someone I know and it's like 'send it to the person that sent it to you to tell them how much you care and ten others..?!' or 'bless you for not deleting this' aaargh! i delete anyway! waste of time..
pure emotional blackmail and not cute at all, many times when people think, they're gonna love this forward..umm, no they will not so do not forward.
what will happen? do let us know but i doubt it will be anything to do with the forward:)

The ones that ask to be returned, I used to return to the sender and no one else... why make them feel unloved? But I have one email buddy that sends at least a dozen emails of varying worth a day. I do feel like I'm being spammed.
I definitely will let you know if something "shocking" happens tomorrow, but like you, I doubt it. (Maybe the hall will have that type of carpet that causes shocks?)

I never believe such chain mail at all.
I delete all of them.
Some even posting photo of baby or people which have some illness or having accident,
which is very bad.
Those people already very pity,
but heartless people still using their photo to form chain mail.
I hate that very much!

Chain mail? I sometimes get some of those. I usually delete them after reading the first second lines. It's not true that you'll have bad luck if you don't forward to other people. It only tells lies. The mails only disturb people and jam their mailboxes. Just my two cents. :)

So many people say they don't believe in chain letters, and yet, they continue to send them on, "just in case".
I like your avatar... I guess when someone asks if your car is running, you can truthfully answer "yes".

Those chain letters are "phising scams",!
Everytime you forward one,all those addresses are on there,(unless you edit & delete them) and makes them available to the "phising sharks" to use, then they use them to send more scam mail!

You could always forward the whole number to the original sender...

I'll try but it's very foggy out right now... I might not see a flagpole until it's too late.

What a coincidence that you're going to be at a function during your supposed revealing of good fortune. :-)
Those crazy letters have been around forever - even before the internet. Back then if you did believe you'd get good luck if you sent them (or bad luck if you didn't) you had to type them up or have them copied, put in an envelope and put a stamp on it.
I'm betting more people send along those emails now than they did snail mail chain letters.

I have told my family and friends numerous times, "If you send me chain letter emails, I am going to delete them without reading them. Then when you send me something important, I may not realize it and delete it by mistake."
I am not really a rude person, I am just honest. Who has time to go through all the junk? I sure don't. Even if I were to read it, it isn't like I am going to forward on to someone else. The silly stuff has stopped and my mom has passed the message on to other family members not to send me junk because I delete right away.
I feel life is too short to beat around the bush with people. I like to be truthful, get right to the point and move on.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm I do not believe in chain letters of any kind. I think that they are pointless and have yet to actually hear of someone legitimately be effected for sending (or not sending) one. I think that all of us choose our fate by how we respond to certain events. I wish you the best of luck at your function and if they is something that you want to have happen than I say just make it happen, don't wait for it to happen.

I don't believe in these things, either. I just thought it was a funny coincidence, especially as my friend tried sending it to me the day before but it didn't go through. But because of the delay, the time frame actually meshes with something out of the ordinary for me. I don't really expect something shocking to happen.
