I let my cat outside and now that's the only place he wants to be

I let my cat outside yesterday thinking that it would be nice for him to get some fresh air while I was pulling weeds out of our flower beds. He liked it so much that he has been meowing since he came inside. Today I let him outside again and he was crying for us to let him inside. Now that I have him inside the house, he's been meowing constantly. It's like he won't shut up now lol. I love it when my cats talk to me just by sending a meow my way but one meow after another? It's sort of getting annoying now. I'm wondering if I should keep him outside for longer than normal? He's still a kitten and I like the fact that he goes outside but I'm so worried that he will run somewhere else even though he just stays around the front deck. It seems that he's wanting to explore more around the yard but I don't trust him lol.

LEASH LEASH LEASH! my babies love to go sit on the patio, but i keep them leashed, since i dont love the idea of them being outdoor cats, mainly they just like the smells and the hot sun/bricks... its pretty funny to see the cats on a leash but both of them really enjoy it so far

That's a really good idea and I'm going to invest in getting a leash for my kitty. I just don't want curiosity getting the better half of him that's all :) Thanks for your comment

and some kitty wipes, since they'll come in all dusty and warm... i just wipe them off before we go inside and they love it.. if i dont let them out once a day they freak out.. i figure its good for them to get some sun.. its totally necessary to get the breeze in your face and the sun on your fur..

I don't mind my kitty going outside when it's warm and dry but I think I'm going to keep him inside when it's raining.. I don't think he will like the wet outdoors anyway lol

Letting a cat live outside is a tough decision. Some of my cats insisted on being outside. I think its normal cat behaviour. I agree with everyone, including my vet, that a cat is safer living inside. Some of my cats are outside cats and that's all there is to it. But it sounds like your kitten doesn't know what he wants. If he accepts being walked on a harness. as was already suggested, you have your answer. If he won't accept the leash, it's too dangerous to let a kitten outside alone. As the kitten matures, he'll decide for himself if he's an inside or outside cat. Given the choice, I would do my best to ensure my cat was comfortable to stay inside. If your area isn't safe for a cat to be out alone, I wouldn't take him outside, because inside is safe. Hopefully, he will either be content on his halter or choose to stay inside. I wouldn't take him outside and give him the feeling of being outside because its better to have a safe cat who is happy staying inside the house. I hope this makes sense to you! I"m having a hard time expressing my thoughts!

oh it totally makes sense to me and you're expressing your thoughts fine with me My older cat is too freaked out by the outdoors so he's an indoor cat forsure but the little one, he's growing and learning. We've had him for almost two months now and he's testing his limits and that's okay too. We are out in the country and there's not much vehicals that drive down our road at all so in that sense he's safe I would have to say. There's no dangers in our yard except trees which I would be a little unsure of if he got stuck up there. He was outside with me today while I was hanging laundry and he shot up a tree that was not too much in height and he didn't go up too high where he couldn't find himself down. I'm thinking he was just excited about exploring. I don't mind him outside when I'm there with him because I spend a lot of the day in the yard doing work but I don't think I would let him go by himself yet. Thanks for your advice
