Issues with keyboard?

I have a new laptop, about three months old and I have started to notice the keys do not work well anymore. For example I will be typing and a letter will not appear and I have to type it several times for it to work. It does not happen all the time or is it the same key each time. Has any one else had this issue and are there any sugestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks for the help.

You might want to try blowing out the keyboard. If it's under warranty, just call and see about having it serviced. Mine does that, occasionally, because I take it outside and dirt and debris gets under the keys. I've always just blown out the keyboard and have popped off the keys a few times to clean underneath them. You'd be shocked what crud accumulates! If there's something actually wrong with the keyboard, all they have to do is snap open your computer and slap in a new one. I have an old laptop that I just replaced the keyboard in without a problem.

Wow I just blew out the keyboard and OMG it was definately obvious that I own a dog. I hope that this works better know, maybe that is why it was off and on with the problems? Thanks for the advice, I was not sure if I could pop off the keys so if I still have trouble I will try that and make sure I got all that darn dog hair. Thanks again.

I think there is some hardware problem and if your laptop has warranty then go to the dealer....he ll help you in a proper way....

Thanks I tried cleaning my keyboard as others suggested and if that fixes the problem than that is good, if not I will definately check into the warranty. Thanks

That's the trouble with laptops - something goes wrong and you have to throw them away. Same problems with a desktop and you just replace the item. Problem goes away. Three months old so you should be under warranty. Take it back and get it replaced. The keyboard membrane is on the blink. Or maybe you could turn it upside down and shake out the crumbs? Failing that, buy a USB socketed keyboard (about $10) and plug it in. While you're at it, buy a USB laser mouse to replace the pesky touch pad. Oh yes, and buy a decent 22" TFT monitor and plug that in so you get a decent display. Haha - then your laptop will be a desktop!!

Yes I know what you mean about the pesky touchpad, I hate it. I will definately buy a mouse and maybe even a keyboard. I had heard such great things about laptops but to be honest I think I perfered my desktop. However it is nice to be able to take my work with me when I go somewhere. Maybe in the future I will buy a desktop and use this laptop for a backup. Thankds for the comments.
