Would you pay for a remake of Final Fantasy 7?

I've never played it, but I hear a lot of hype about it being really good. Like, one of the best ever. I'd buy it if square-enix released it on Nintendo DS with a few extra features. I'd prefer DS, since I don't have a PSP.

I hadn't played many of the Final Fantasy games to be honest. I've played a few RPGs but not many. I would have to play FF7 before saying if I wanted a remake. It could work on the DS or the PSP depending on what they can do with it. I don't know what else can be done with it. I know it's a popular game in the franchise but I don't know a remake would be needed. I'd have to play the original before saying for sure.

I don't see why not. I've thought at some point they would make a Final Fantasy Anthology set and have the 1st 6 Final Fantasy games on a CD and then go from there. I could see a box set in the future with this franchise with all the original games together. Not all on CD 'cause that'd be hard but separate CDs.

I think they'd rather sell the first six Final Fantasy games separately. It's all about the money. The only two Final Fantasy games they combined onto one cartridge were the first two for Game Boy Advance.

Well, I think they should as long as they keep remaking Final Fantasy IV. They should branch out more, ya know?

As long as they did like the first release of ff7 and release it for the PC as well, I'd happily buy it, it is one of my favorite games of all time.

Yeah, I was always pulling for cloud and Aeris/Aerith, but, well, you know (don't want to throw out any spoilers). I still have a small crush on the flower girl I think.

I agree. Being a avid Final Fantasy 7 fan I would absolutely love to see a remake of this game. However, They would need to leave the actual material of the game as the original and only update the graphics, and maybe improve the sound/midi. There is absolutely no reason to add or change anything in the game. Less we forget that Final Fantasy 7 was dubbed "possibly the greatest game ever made" for its time. Though I am loyal to sony and play the playstation and PS2. I would not mind it if I saw this remake released on the PS3, Xbox 360, or PC. As far as Nintendo is concerned, I would not want to see this on the DS at all.

I would love a remake but only for graphical and midi updating purposes. I don't want extra minigames, extra maps, bosses. They could easily mess up the formula with that! Also if they do someday decide to remake it, NO voice actors. (or at least the ability to turn it off). If they use the ones from the movie, I guess it wouldn't be that bad, but voice actors are so tricky and can seriously ruin a moment. PSP or PS3 remake FTW, no DS remake, leave that for the NES and SNES games.

Then I'd have to buy a PSP or a PS3. Why not have it multiplatform-Wii,PS3,Xbox 360?

Anything is cool as long as they don't stray too far from the original story line, enix kindda messes things up.
