responded better than you could? Do you respond anyways for the money? The last few discussions I've looked at, after reading all the responses, were answered so well I decided I didn't want to respond!

A few times I do pull back but its very rare. Most times I'll still answer because I have something to contribute be the discussion "resolved" or if there is a "better" response in the discussion. You never really know what the discussion author will think though. Its possible the "better" response will be discarded in favor of another response in the discussion.

I always respond to a discussion that is interesting. It doesn't really matter if other people have already responded. In fact, I think it's easier to respond to a certain discussion when there are already other responses. These responses can somehow help you come up with a good response.

I respond if I'm interested, period.

When I response to a discussion I always look and see how many response are there. If there are more than 15 responses I do not reply. Instead I go to the discussions that do not have any response or another that is less then 15.

If the question at hand is a universal like asking for ideas or opinions about a certain topic, I tend to skip answering if I noticed that somebody have answered already and whose thoughts are similar to mine. On the other hand, if the question is more personal like asking "which countries you've been to" or "how do you like to cook your steak", then I usually post my thoughts even if there are some posters who've been to places I've been to or cooked their steaks same way as I do. Enjoy!

If I found that someone already reply the discussion which already said what I want to, I will skip it. I don't want to make duplicate respond.
