Do you think we should be able to report people for spam posts?

I've just spent 10 minutes reporting one members posts to Mylot for constant spam posting on the same subject and I only got through one and a half pages of their discussions. They are all the same bloody post on making money and to check out their profile for their referral link so they can get referrals and make money. People are actually checking out their profile to earn money. As far as I'm concerned, their posts are nothing but spam and I'm getting tired of seeing them. Unfortunately, I do not feel like going through every single discussion they've started to report them to Mylot. I would hope Mylot would get the hint after I reported several of their discussions that they are only here to spam the boards. Do you think we should be able to report members for spamming the boards instead of just reporting single discussions? Is this something you would like to see? Have you ever had to report post after post from some members? How long did it take?

I would so love to be able to do this. It's bothersome when you find the same member making spam postings and all you can do is report one discussion. I haven't personally had to report members but I just wish I wouldn't ave to in the future.

Guess it would be nice. Though, I'm sure that some members would abuse the privilege and report their rivals for no good reason. By having to report individual discussions MyLot can analyze the discussion and see whether or not it breaks TOS. Simply reporting one discussion will alert Mylot as to the evil doer.

I have seen a few of those myself. I just usually don't answer to most of them. Everyone is always wanting to know how to make a extra buck now days I can understand that but they shouldn't be using Mylot to post it, just to get referrals. I havne't reported anyone, so I don't know how long it would take. Well, maybe this person will get a stern warning to stop posting such discussions or get their accounts deleted.

I can see your point here. I think that spammers should wait for a more opportune moment to pitch their site. i have noticed that there are some discussions started that specifically ask if there are other sites you can make money on. in that case i would have to say that spammers posting on discussions like that are not really spamming because the question asked for such information in the first place. and it is an honest question because, sad to say it, other places to make money on, none as good as mylot mind you...but they do exist. heck...i have a couple of other sites i work with and i wouldn't mind getting a few referrals for those sites too. I think that allowing and disallowing such types or responses should be done on a case by case basis. i do agree that posting referral links in your responses is silly, but putting them in your profile should be fine for people to review i think is fine and when your posting to a discussion that is talking about making money on the internet specifically and its also specifically asking where, i dont see anything wrong with replying to it and offering my referral links because in my mind thats what was being asked for. so case by case and i would have to say that depending on the subject matter of the discussion, the type of posts your talking about can be considered spam...but not necessarily. after all...the fact that we can refer people hear in of itself can be considered spam since they didn't ask for it. i don't know...i guess its all in how you look at it. but just so your mind is eased...i don't make the types of posts your referring to.
