Where do you get your best MyLot ideas?

Most of my best MyLot ideas come from my regular life. As I'm going about my day, doing regular things, ideas and questions occur to me. Maybe it works this way with everyone. Except when I get a question, I write it down in my notebook and later discuss it on Mylot. Sometimes when I'm watching a movie or TV show, like the Simpsons, ideas come to me, too. So, I jot those down. If I'm cooking, then I'm more likely to get discussion ideas about food and recipes. If I'm cleaning the house, then I'm more likely to come up with helpful housecleaning hints. Ideas are everywhere. My best tip for anyone looking to post better discussions on MyLot is to look around and keep your eyes open. Turn every situation into a question. If you have helpful tips, then post those and ask for advice. Start a dialogue or discussion. That's one of the best part about being at MyLot is that you can talk with others. What's your best tip for posting on MyLot? How do you get your MyLot ideas? Do you take real events from your life?

I don't think I have any "best" myLot idea in particular. But normally, they just come to me when I think about things. Anytime, anywhere really. And very importantly, they come more when I express a desire to have them come - because I do not always want to post discussions.

Yup, sometimes when we are too focused on something, it might actually become detrimental if we don't handle the situation right.

I have to do the same and turn off the ideas on occasion, especially when I am trying to sleep or lying down and resting. Actually, you've made a very good point. And, it brings up one of my other tricks for coming up with good posts. Simply get away from the computer screen and MyLot and lay down for a few minutes on the couch or bed. And, the ideas will flow more freely.

I don't do that many posts sweety but that is mainly cos I don't like the pressure and stress I feel if I have lots of responses to reply too and also a large part of it is because whilst I can think of load of posts I usually forget to jot them down or if I do I don't write enough information down to remember what they were meant to be about! lol I think you give very good advice here beauty and it is great that you are sharing it with everyone! xxx

I do run out of energy to post sometimes and then I just respond to lots of discussions. You are right, that takes way less effort. It's very relaxing!

I get alot of my ideas from my children and caring for them and also that my imagination is a wonderful thing. Mylot allows it to escape and I get a $1 or two for sharing it! Real life events are great to use as mylot discussions, it is great to get a wide spread idea on some of the things that have been vexxing you. Got to love mylot!

I like the money too! I'm already here at the house doing housework and taking care of my kid and updating my blog, so why not pick up some extra change on the side to pay the electric bill!

Usually, I get it from my daily live activities. I also got some idea from magazines, tv, and radio. I think news website is also a good source of ideas. I always try to make my post idea easy, simple, and light. Not too much thinking and heavy subject. I found out that heavy subject tends to make people lazy to respond. I don't think many people want to express their feeling openly on the internet specially to a site where they can't change it.

I agree with yo biobio55, I don't think it's wise to go around parading your feelings and telling all about your personal life in My Lot. Might as well just stick to easy or witty subjects.

Yeah, I love talking about my favorite movies and TV shows too. Especially shows like the Simpsons or Family Guy. Those two cartoons are a wealth of topics, waiting to happen.

I don't really give much thought to starting discussions on myLot. But I guess that is why you have so many discussions in the works at all times, and I have basically none. I admire the way you seem to do everything in such an organized manner. It really works for you. I worry about myLot becoming too much like work for me and I will no longer enjoy it. Keep up the good work, BQ. You provide great response fodder for those of us who respond more than anything else.

I would come up with ideas for discussions all the time, I had pages of the things, but when it came down to doing them I would always think that people would think that they were daft. So I would not do them. Since I came back off holiday I have had so much to say and show that I am just putting anything down. Also, I feel very talkative just lately and cannot seem to shut up and so I am on a bit of a roll. Knowing me though it will end as suddenly as it started and I will go back to my usual quiet self.

I find I get my ideas for discussions from things that are going on, things I've read online and thoughts that wander through my brain. Some have worked out and others have fallen flat on their faces.

When I think of some ideas i just post it here. I got no time jotting out ideas but I think it is the best. Real life situations are what I am posting in. I dont want to post about what i can research in the internet or something I can read. Anything i can post, any idea that i find interesting. But due to time limitations I just cannot post as much as I can.
