last sunday i was thinking of not giving my tithe and offering since i'm really short in cash. but well, i can't help myself not to give. even if it left me with literally nothing in my wallet. however God is soo good that a couple of days ago, i received an email from a site telling me they chose my work... and they're sending me a cheque worth $125!!! i feel so blessed!!! God never fails! we can never outgive Him!! how about you?

Wow, that's really great! It really is an inspiration of having God with us and provide us with what we need just as how He would take care for the birds and plants and other animals! :D Surely that is not luck, I call it providence. Glory be to God for being so loving to His people even if sometimes we tend to sin and go against what He wills..

hi k8cath! :) yes, that's how much God loves us. even if sometimes we go wayward, yet like the father of the prodigal son, he still accepts us... wholeheartedly.

I firmly do. I've seen the difference in giving and not. Our pastor says that if you don't give it to God, he'll take it another way. I've seen that evident in my dad's life although I know he doesn't see it that way.

Amen. You definitely cannot outgive God. Tithine is the only thing that God tells us to test Him on. That's because we will always be blessed by tithing, by obeying. Everything belongs to God anyway. And the tithe is like acknowledging that fact. One doesn't always get blessed with lots of money because of tithing. The blessings can come in many different forms. I once worked strictly on commission. The first year (3 months) I worked the job, I made about $3000. The next year, my spouse and I agreed to tithe. (He really wanted to test God...and prove to me that tithing "didn't work.") But since I had no idea what kind of money I was going to make - most of my income came in December, January and February, even though I started working in April each year - we didn't know how much to give. I started giving an amount I thought was right, and at the end of the year, I had earned $8500 for my part time job. And we had given $850 to the church. We had so many blessings that year...including a promtion for me. My spouse suggested what he thought I might earn with the promotion - $20,000, still for working part time. At the end of the year, we had given $2,000...and when my commissions were tallied I earned $19,999. And I got another promotion. You're right. God is good!

i totally agree with you. the verse about tithing is found in Malachi 13 right? this is really one powerful verse from God. a couple of sundays ago, our pastor told us to get a tithe envelop and write down our desired tithes and offerings. we will keep it in our bible and see it after a year to prove that God really bless those who have faith in Him. thanks for sharing your testimony ken. i really appreciate it. :)

Praise God! Thanks for sharing. Personally I believe in tithing, I see tithing as giving to God what is His in the first place. And like in Malachi 3, not tithing is akin to robbing God. In fact in Malachi 3:10, God asks us to TEST Him on the fact that He would bless us if we tithe. I really like what my pastor says, if we tithe, it gives God an opportunity or even a reason to bless us because God Himself asks us to test Him on it. Although through this 2 years I've been having major downtimes, but God has been faithful throughout the time. Maybe it's because I tithe. :) Only time will tell.
