It has long since been an issue that models on catwalks and in magazines are too skinny, celebrities doing anything they can to slim down to these sizes, it seems each time a popular magazine advertises these sizes and the measurements of these sizes, more adolescents are diagnosed as anorexic..One argument designers have put forward is that some of their models are naturally skinny just as most are naturally tall, they argue they are not after the skinniness but an ideal bone structure which there clothes will hang off nicely.
Are models AND CELEBRITYS too thin or are we just fat?
Is the rise in our anorexia rate REALLY down to these bad images?

I think that society in general places too much emphasis on the weight of females, and causes the uprising of eting disorders. the media in particular has a negative influence on teenage girls self esteem which is why eating disorder orientated websites are rampant across the internet. I believe that the models and celebrities are unhealthily thin and have to put in too much effort for it to be considered normal to maintain that sort of look. I dont find it attractive at all, bones are a big turn off...

hmm i agree bone bags are not really a pleasant sight .but then of the celebs at least some of them are naturally thin prolly .Another thing i was wondering about was if the fact that we cudnt in our dreams be as thin was prodding us into shunnin them 4 being anorexic etc and thereby consoling ourselves tha ta fat us was healthy:)

Recently here in Europe things are changing to avoid anorexy and to adapt to real body measures: Spain has a law that fixes the minimum measures models should have, and an Italian stylist made a line for average women, meaning average-measured women.

How about a little moderation when it comes to female body types? Celebrities are typically far too emaciated but that doesn't change the fact that around 50% of Americans easily qualify as overweight and a sizeable portion of that being obese.
