40 billion barrels of oil in Montana

We buy about 4 billion barrels of oil per year.. The governor of Montana says this oil alone (estimated 40 billion barrels) could take care of our energy crunch.. And by using new "horizontal drilling" the impact on the environment is not great.. What do you think, should we drill our own oil? Or continue to buy it from others? Do you think it's a good practice to give so much money to dictatorships?

Well yes we should produce our own oil. We are the only country, that has its own oil, that does not use it. Russia is going to great lenghts to find more oil in their country. They are drilling in Sibrea for it. Cuba is going to start drilling off their coast. We on the other hand are so worried about a little damage to the enviroment, that we cannot bare the thought of drilling in on our own land. Why is it the Russians, the Cuban, or the Arabs can drill for oil and not destory the enviroment, but if we drill we are going to kill everything. It is time for America to grow up, and stop being so immature. Stop being afraid of every little thing that could go wrong.
