"Don't push your luck, that's close enough" this little fella had his eye on me

I took this photo at a zoo we visited, I got so close to him I could have reached out and touched him. But I just did not dare too! I am pretty sure that he would have bitten me if I had gone any closer. But all the same I got a fantastic picture of him.
What sorts of animals and things have you ever got really close too and maybe even touched?

I had my picture before holding a very huge snake with my 3 friends and the care taker, At first we were hesitant because of his size but the care taker assured us that he will be holding the head and when the snake is full, he can't move freely! I was very happy after that since I really don't like snake, and I can't believe I was able to get closer to one!LOL!

yea the care taker said it was a python. Wow! you mean you have it in your house? you bought it? I knew also a family who have a python in their yard, Actually, they just found it in the forest and decided to take care of it, it is very very huge and when we visited there, he was on the cage, only the family can touch it, a lot of people will visit their and donate for the food! Very amazing, i do not know if I can sleep good if I have it in our yard..LOL!

It is a boa constrictor that we have, my hubby bought her a few months ago, she is about 5ft long. She has a lovely big home and is well looked after, and she absolutely adores my hubby!
I am trying to get around to getting a good photo of her and then I can put her on here for everyone to see!

It would have been a python or a constrictor as they both grow big. We have a boa constrictor that is quite big already she is 2 years old.
When she gets to full size I told my hubby he should take her to shows and fairs and things.

that is an awesome photo
most recently.. the hummingbird that continuously buzzed through my hair and around my shoulders. a mole a couple weeks ago in my grass.. i petted his butt and he squeaked at me LOL a flock of wild turkeys a few weeks before the mole.. my daughter and i were both in the midst of them, they were HUGE. and a couple years ago i nearly accidentally petted a fox that passed in my yard cause i mistook her for my cat out of the corner of my eye while i was laying in the sun, and reached out to give her some lovins. mal got his legs rubbed up against by a skunk, that he too mistook for the cat.. and got nearly knocked over by a bunch of rabbits that colided with his legs as they ran past playing with this years new fox.. he now calls these cute & fuzzy bunnies "The Pack" rofl the only couldve-been-bad situation with any of these wild critters, was a tiny garden snake that was curled up sunning hisself next to my clothesline that i mistakenly reached down to pet.. and he decided he was insted a cobra and rose up and striked at me LOL didnt get bit, but i did leave him be after that and he continued to enjoy the sunshine under my feet while i hung my sheets LOL

Thank you, he did come out quite well, surprised he sat there for me so long.
I cannot believe how lucky you are to have been so close to some great animals, I have never ever seen a live mole never mind touch one. Or a fox come to think of it.
The snake story made me gasp that was real scary, I think it is strange that you get these snakes in your garden, I squeal like a baby if I see a spider near me.
Thanks for your great stories, I enjoyed reading it.

It just seems like you have an affinity with the animals, they may sense that they can trust you even though they still do not come to close. I always wished that I had it as I love animals and you seem to get so many it must be lovely.

It was very tempting to touch him, but I did not want to lose my typing fingers LOL. You have had a couple of close experiences, a racoon, and they are so sweet!
You have pet rats do you, we have wild rats that come in the garden, I have done my best to protect them but the neighbours have called the rat exterminators out now so there is not a lot I can do.
It is a shame, they are so cute, but apparently full of disease and so I know it is for the best with the children being around.
My hubby has a ball python, apparently as he has just informed me they are known here as a Royal Python. They are a good looking snake.

I know, I went fishing once and caught nothing, it was boring! They are good fishers though.
