Forget about the expensive products that claims anti-aging effects. I cannot stress enough how important sunscreen is to keep your youthful appearance, especially for you ladies. There are two types of UV light released from the sun, UVA and UVB. UVA penetrates into the skin deeply underneath the skin tissues even though it had lower energy than UVB. Extensive exposure to UVA can damage underneath inner layer of the skin structurally (dermis)and cause premature aging of the skin. UVA can also give brown pigmentation spots on the skin as the melanin in your skin absorbs the UVA rays. Before that UVB rays will have stimulates melanocytes in your skin to produce the pigment melanin. 90% of aging signs (wrinkles, fine line, hyper-pigmentation, saggy skin) are caused by prolonged exposure to UVA. Sunscreen should be apply even if it's a cloudy rainy day as UV lights still exist outside So, not only can sunscreen prevent skin cancer and sunburn. These days there should be no excuse to not applying sun as there are heaps of sunscreen moisturizers (both sunscreen and moisturizers all in one) out there in the market for lazy or busy people. For the Australians make sure sunscreen have this two features: 1. SPF 30+ 2. must protect from UVA + UVB rays (It's a must) I only brought myself to educate sunscreen when I've discovered a couple of little brown spots on my face, so don't let it get you. The sunscreen moisturisers that I'm using now its OLAY spf 30+ with UVA+ UVB protection. It is a non-greasy cream and absorb quite quick in few minutes, makes your skin soft and supple. Can be applied on before wearing make-up. The bad is that it comes in 75ml at the cost of AUD$15 (cheapest cost in store). Hope this post will help you make effective and long term choices in regards to skincare.
