How do you pick your friends on myLot? So far I'm accepting anyone who wants me. I have to assume they check me out before they request me so they know what they're getting. I request according to if our interests are the same and we seem to have the same views on some subjects like religion, childrearing and so on.

I learned the hard way not to just accept anyone. Now, I thoroughly check out their profile and also discussions they have started and responded to. I approve most but I have hit the deny key several times, too. As for who I choose. Sometimes they simply wrote a response I thought was funny, or wise, or anything of that nature. Many of my friends have similar interests, kids, faith, etc...but not all. Some have simply been where I am now and vice versa. Faith is important to me, however I have requested and accepted friends who believe something else entirely...and I thoroughly enjoy their posts and responses. And that is what it comes down to- if they make me laugh, make me think, make me cry (in a touching way...lol), etc...then I am happy to have them as a friend.

Yes, you can delete friends. Go to your friends list and next to each avatar there will be some options- send a message, notify on, and DELETE.

I feel the same way about people of different beliefs. I don't care what or how a person believes as long as they're adult about it. When people get on and start ripping me apart and putting words in my mouth, I would rather we leave each other alone. When you accepted someone you later wished you hadn't, were you able to delete them from your friends list? I'm still navigating around the site, I have a lot to learn.

I don't pick the friends on mylot, I sincerely send a friend request to mylot user, and I accept every friend request from mylot users. Of course, I accept anyone who wants me.

I usually chose according to how a person responded about faith and children. I have never checked a profile before accepting someone, I will starting today.

I have only been an active member for about a week now. I haven't denied anyone. To request a friend, I look at the profiles of people that have posted good responses to my discussions and request them, if it looks like we have some things in common and I would be able to respond to their discussions as well. The first thing I do is check my friends new posts when I get on-this way there's a benefit to having me as a friend! LOL :)

I have a morning ritual too. If I posted a discussion the day before I try to answer those first. Then I go through my friends new discussions and so on. I have accepted a lot of people as friends, I think I need to go through thier profiles and get to know them a little better lol.

So far I have too, but now I'm wondering if it's wise to accept people randomly after what another person posted.

I just started on this site yesterday so I haven't had too many opportunities however I adopt your philosophy that I will accept anyone who requests me.

Hi there, I think I have changed my philosophy after reading some of these other respones. It never dawned on me I might be accepting someone who really isn't compatible with me. Like the post below this one.

Till date, I have not had any restrictions in accepting my friends. I accept everyone who sends an invitation. Also I don't think I'm choosy in picking my friends too..If there are same interests while readig a response, I invite them to be my friends..Other than that, I have accepted eveyone's invitation to be my friend.

Well for me, i really don't pick my friends. If someone invited me as a friend, I just go ahead and accept them. The more friends I have, the better. It really makes no difference whoever you choose as a friend here in mylot.

I haven't figured out yet how I know if I have been accepted as a friend when I request someone. I'm not sure if I automatically become their friend if I accept them. Still figuring it all out.

Hello Sue, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I generally accept anybody that wants me. the ones i request is someone that i enjoy reading and responding to. I promise that several i have requested has ideas poles away from the way i think but i really enjoy hearing reasoning so different from mine! Then again i have friends half way around the world that think just like i do! It is amazing and really makes you think about how alike we all really are!

Hello SusanLee, I pick people that have had several discussions that I responded to. To me, its not so much about what we have in common but if you find their discussions interesting enough to respond to, you might like to see more of their discussions(for me anyway). Tianna
