For me its windows. I have nothing against linux and have used it in the past it just isn't compatible with enough programs for me. If it had more windows programs on it i would probably use it all the time.

I will prefer windows xp. Because I feel the Linux isn't working well , I need to remember many orders and codes .And you couldn't use some common softs ,but you can use on windows. So I feel useing linux inconvenient .

I prefer windows and i'm using it as: ‡It is easy to use than Linux. ‡It is more Stable and Reliable. ‡It is perfect for me I dont care what others think. ‡Windows dominates in the desktop and PC markets with about 90% of the markets share.

I see many Linux fans say that Linux has no virus. You don't need antivirus with the little penguin. Well I say, just because it knows no virus doesn't mean it has no virus at all. Virus creators always target the most popular O/S, and since Windows is very popular, it becomes favourites for virus. Virus creator looks for popularity. Why infecting minor O/S if you can target the big one? As for the thread starter, I prefer Windows. It's all about compability and knowledge base support and I hate to remember command line. Too many of them will kill you.

As a techi guy i prefer to use Linux but as a normal user i prefer to use windows. In my sence both the OS are good for respective need. Linux-- --good for development as there are lot of support from world wide for development, same time its too time consuming,(incase of installing new software)same inst

Couple of months ago I used to have windows SP but then my buddy told me about the Linux and features. Impressed with my buddy I installed Linux - Ubuntu 8.04. And boy, I liked the Linux very much that I use Windows XP as less a possible. I think most people fear Linux as it has complicated image in masses.

Ubuntu is really Great! I am a programmer. I can write program very well on Ubuntu but not on Windows. I like the console. The shell is powerful. What's more, the GUI is as pretty as Vista and Mac. Ubuntu is free. So why not use it? LOL

Just like everybody else, I prefer Windows. I've tried and currently running on Linux, Ubuntu Hardy Heron to be exact. Well Windows a lot more user friendly. I been using it since I was about eleven or twelve and will be using it until I die! haha :-p

I pefer linux. I am using ubuntu hardy heron. Linux is so easy to use. I know most of the people think otherwise, but to start with you should go with ubuntu and will realise how easy to use it is. I have got a perfect substitute to every windows application(except quality games) on linux and that too free. No more trial versions as on windows. No need of antivirus.
