i think that it is so expensive to sell on e-bay now that it is not worth it anymore.its like a time bomb waiting to go off,and people are getting more worried about fraudulant sellers on e-bay,so they tend to stay away.i would not sell on e-bay anymore because of the fees involved.i sell on oztion when i do.i have not even done that for a while.cheers sue

I am not an ebay seller, however, I have bought things off of ebay. And lately, I've noticed that there aren't as many good deals as there used to be. Therefore, I don't buy as many things off ebay anymore. This is probably related to sellers having a harder time selling their products. Because if less people are buying, then sellers have to raise their prices to make a profit. Before, sellers could sell a huge quantity of items at blowout prices because people will snap it up, thus, the seller will still make money. Nowadays, that probably isn't the case. That's just my interpretation of what's happening.

Last month I was selling like crazy, this month seems to be a little slower. All of my listings taht I did have expired yesterday, so I'm not sure if I'm going to relist anything right now or not. Maybe if we go on ebay "strike" maybe they will lower their fees a little bit. The paypal fees are getting pretty steep as well.

I think auction listings have gone down, at least in the US. I've been seeing alot of "fixed-price" listings on Ebay and yesterday, I received a note with a link to a story on Yahoo(?) about auctions aren't as popular as 5-10 years ago. The jist of the story was that the days of the crazy bidding wars are over. Buyers are more computer savvy and they can easily check the value of an item. Rather than take a chance on bidding on auctions, buyers seem to be looking to buy the item in a fixed price listing, rather than take a chance in an auction. I don't totally agree, as I still find some great bargains on Ebay auctions, but I agree that "the bloom is off the rose" when it comes to auctions. You must have the hot item to make good $$ in auctions, or you items may not even find a bidder. There are several new ways to make money with Ebay (and Australia is just one of the countries where there are money-making programs for buyers and sellers- check my profile for 2 FREE programs that I use to make money on EBAY- they both work and earn money!) I really do believe that fixed-price listings will be the way to go, unless you have "the HOT - must have item" and making money on Ebay with other companie's FREE programs can keep buying and selling on Ebay profitable.

I have just put some things on ebay, 14 of them did not sell and 9 of them did, but some of the things that sold did not sell for as much as I hoped. I had a pair of Jane Norman jeans that I bought for £35 but never wear them as they are too big now and they only managed to sell for £4. It was quite disappointing.

I have never had an easy time selling anything on ebay. But I keep going back I don't know why I just keep thinking this time will be different.... (I am selling under the name sweetdesigninc on ebay by the way). It has always been hard for me to move my stuff on ebay I don't know why.

I think with the credit crunch beginning to bite harder and gas prices soaring, people don't have the spare money to buy on eBay these days. My sales have dropped off recently although I did wonder if it was due to people going on holiday.

I also have noticed this missbdoll. I do sell some stuffs over ebay and I have observed that there are less buyers nowadays. I think that more and more people prioritize the more important things in life. With prices increasing in most countries around the world, it is perfectly understandable.

I hardly buy on ebay anymore as the prices on there just are not very good anymore. I used to be able to buy things on ebay alot cheaper than in the store but now they cost alot more and the shipping charges have become very high. That is probaly why alot of others have quit using ebay too.

I think that eBay is so huge that its hard to give a definitive answer to this question. In certain areas, I'm sure that eBay sales are down, and in others, they are booming. Many eBay businesses report a seasonal aspect to their sales - golf clubs sell better during certain times of the year than in others (who needs clubs in the winter?) - so I don't think that the changes (as drastic as they might be) are having that great of an impact, because of the huge market of customers that frequent eBay's site.
