Do you have joint economy with your spouse or partner?

I am curious about how the economy works in your family /relationship. I have discussed this with a lot of my "real life" friends, and there seems to be very many solutions as how to share or divide costs and salaries. My boyfriend and I have been together for about two years, but we have separate economy. I earn a lot more than him, so each of us get our own salaries. We do split the monthly bills like rent, electricity etc, but with food we don't really keep track. I pay most of it, but he sometimes pay. I do not really care if it is "even". I have friends that have one joint account for all incomes and bills, and whatever they are doing goes out of that. Then I have friends that have their incomes separate but puts in an even share, say 30 % of their income together for joint costs. This will then mean that the person that earns less also contributes less, so it will be fair. How do you have it worked out? Do you care, or do you just put it all together? How do you do with "personal" costs, is that a problem if you have a joint account, what does your spouse say then?
