Rapid decline in reading habit is robbing the society, especially the younger generation,of intellectual developement.Knowledge acquired through book has no replacement and parents should inculcate the habit of reading among children. This one of the very serious problem in the society. In the present scenario children are prefer ready made solution. To days younger generation prefer to study test paper and ready made answers without going into the indepth study.

Yes i agree with you.Todays children watch tv and do not read storybooks. Watching tv hampers their mental development whereas reading books is good for their mental growth.
Many schools do not even have a good library and they do not encourage children to read books.
It is a sad thing ...

I couldn't agree more. Reading books should really be a habit that we must inculcate among children. It would benefit them a lot. It is said that reading good books is like talking to the finest and noble people of ancient times.

Hi, I agree, agree and agree again. Seems that we are going to a world of robots because none want to think anymore. Younger generation don't want to read nothing and don't like to think also. I'm worry about that because how they will can make choices and options if they don't think? Seems that in the future some people will tell for all the people what to do, what to say and what to think. It is very sad. These brain empty already show their effects because we are watching every day more youngers killing without any motive, only to be famous.

Are you sure reading's in decline? There may be more different entertainment media now, but there are still plenty of bookshops around, and they all seem to be well-attended. Then there's the internet, which obviously requires reading and writing skills. I'm not too keen on the rise of textspeak though.
