Today I asked for a raise. The first time I've been brave enough at work to ask for one. I've been here 2 and a half years and been given raises before. I was a bit nervous asking but I got the raise!
Have you ever asked for a raise at work? How'd it feel to ask? Did it work out?

Congratulations! I think it's great that you were brave enough to recognize your importance, assert yourself, and get what you wanted. I bet that feels totally empowering. 
I once asked for a raise, and the person I was working for asked me why I waited so long to ask! I think people are too scared to ask because they think they'll get fired.

Thank you! It was very empowering. He is a boss i can joke around with. He hired another service tech today and the hiree is another female so i was teasing him that people are going to start thinking he has a harem (theres now 3 females working for him and no men us girls scare them off by talking about bra shopping)
I wasnt scared of being fired, I just was worried he'd say no.
