My husband wanted to give gift cards as gifts to everyone, including the grandkids for Christmas. I think they are impersonal. Which would you rather receive?

Gifts or Gift Cards these are objects to express love. Giving Gifts or Gift Cards are depending upon relationship. If you maintain deep relationship you will give Gifts else Gift cards. I think you got the solution.

I think giftcards promote consumerism and make the holidays all about money and less about celebrating with family and friends. Even if it's just a small gift, or even if it's returned or exchanged later, I always think it's the thought that counts more than the gift itself.

As long as you wrap it up and it is a place they like it's cool. Check to make sure there is no loss after a period of time some have small print that you should read.

I love putting small gifts in big boxes, the gift cards go well in them.
