I love jasmine rice. I have a big rice cooker. I paid like $80 for it and it keeps it hot for a few days. Jasmine smells good when its cooking.

A few days??? I hope you mean a few hours. Jasmine is by far the best. I never thought that there were differences between the taste of white rice. Jasmine is our favorite. I just wish it was not so expensive. I have cheated and mixed Jasmine with regular 1/2 and 1/2. It infuses its flavor in the other rice and is a bit easier on our budget. Saved money is like found money right?

When I am making Indian foods or a curry dish, I always use jasmine rice. Basmati is also a very tasty rice.

Hi nesha1, I love rice. It's our staple food here in my country and we eat rice every meal, three times a day. I agree with you about the jasmine rice. It's my favorite among the variety of rice that I have tried. I think I just can't live without rice. We are having some rice supply problem in the country right now but the government is doing everything to meet the nation requirement for every citizen to have access to rice. Cheers!

Yes, I totally agree with you. We eat rice everyday and Jasmine rice is simply delicious. The texture is nice and soft. I remember this one time my mom bought some of these short grained race (I can't recall the brand name) and it just did not taste the same. The rice was too hard and the flavoring was off. So we ended up mixing it with the Jasmine rice to try and balance it out. This is how we've been doing things for a while now because the Jasmine rice is getting a bit too expensive (around $40 for a 50lb bag of Jasmine rice). And with the amount of rice we eat, this helps to save some money. I'm amazed that you can keep your rice for a few days. Ours is only good for a day or maybe two at most before the rice starts turning an orangy shade. I guess our rice cooker is getting pretty old (we've had it for more than 10 years now).
