DO you own your own website? Or do you have a blog. I wish to start a site but can't decide which would be best. Any help with info would be greatly appreciated.

I have my personal homepage. I also have a very simple blog in MSN. In fact I like to build my own website much more. As the blog has the fixed setting and I don't like it very much. I love China

Yup. That's the problem. Websites cost but you have total frredom as to content and design.

I had a personal website but I hate to maintain it everyday so now I just update my blog. In blog I just have to write but in my website I have to design more things. I think a blog is better for me to have.

I think you can do two step. 1. you build the blog, because that's free, and easy to operate. 2. when your blog is famous, you can start your website, and put your website address on the blog, your website also will be famous. Hope that can help you.

I've found my website to be more lucrative than my blog: http://www.nojobformom.com/2008/07/21/website-blog-which-one-is-more-lucrative-2/, but a blog is easier to set up.

I own both the blogs and the free websites. You can build your own website with freewebs, site.tl or your own blog.

I have a few blog in total, and one forum. All of my blog in English, but my forum in Chinese. I think you can start to blog at Wordpress or Blogger first, cause they're free and easy to use.
