The effects of deployment on children

I have two kids and my husband is currently deployed. My 4 year old son has turned into a complete terror since his dad left...there are days where I just have to walk away because I am so mad at him. I gave birth to our second son while my husband was gone. He is almost 7 months old and my husband is coming home soon. I am scared that our baby might not want to go to him because he does not know him. Anyone else gone through this???

Hello, my son is 4 and my daughter is 8. They have both changed alot since there dad left. My 4 year old always gets mad at me and tells me that he wishes I would move to a new home so daddy can come home from Iraq, my 8 year old gets mad cause she wants to call daddy all the time. I actually had our daughter when he was deployed also. She was 3 months old before he saw her for the first time. When you husband calls are you putting the phone up to his ear so he can hear his daddy's voice? I know alot of people that do this.. I am sure he will want to go to him, it's almost like they know who there dad is. I was afraid like you for my daughter when she was a baby she cried everytime a guy would hold her, but the first time my husband held her she was wide awake just looking at him.. Best of luck I am sure all will be fine

Thanks for all your advise...Devyn talks to his daddy all the time. My husband can really get him babbling some days. I am just glad that this is almost over!!! Best of luck to you!!!
