How on earth did I make it in time, what a morning!

I woke up this morning and stretched, the sun was shining brightly and I hoped it was going to be a lovely day. I then thought it was a bit funny that my alarm had not yet gone off, and assumed I had woken up before it, my hubby was not in bed so I thought that it could not be long until it went off as he must have gone to work. So I looked at the time and saw that it was nearly 8.30 am!. I have to be up at 7am and I have to leave the house to take the kids to school at 8.45 am! I dive bombed out of bed and rushed around as fast as I could scooping kids and clothes up as I went along, I was so annoyed as I usually get the clothes ready the night before. Trying to walk in a straight line instead of a circle as I desperately tried to get my brain into gear, and wake up it was a nightmare! But amazingly I managed to get the kids into school for 9.05am, in between all this I had a huge huge row with my 16 year old son which reduced me to tears but I shall tell you about that one in a little while when I get over it. So have you ever overslept so late that you thought you would never make it on time, but did?

I've experiences that too, but unfortunetly not as lucky as you. Before I sleep, I always set the alarm clock .But during that time, while I was sleeping ,in the middle of the night, the alarm clock battery went off. So in other word , there's no kokododle doo in the morning. I over slept (8am). From preparation to travel going to work, it's so impossible to make it on time, so instead, i just called our supervisor that I can't go work that day because I'm sick. From that day on 'till now, I always do back ups. Two alarm and sets of batteries..lol.

GRRRRRR..the very thought of back up alarms gets me going lol..when hubby was at work he used to drive me nuts!!..every night these three alarms used to have to be set..an d they ewere all set differently...sometihng like ten minutes aPART..so there we were every morning laying in bed while the three alarm clocks all went off..that signalled it was time for him to get up...to the flask .which he had prepared the night before, and his bag and everything he had prepared the night before!!!...quite fanatical really!!!

That's amazing! You must be super organized and have everything within easy reach. It's times like these that test our fortitude as moms!

bus arrives at 8:35 am.. when me and the sprite oversleep until 8:20 its a mad dash for breakfast, lunch made, snack packed, clothes thrown on, teeth cleaned, and hair done. i will jump out of bed same as you.. with brain not quite in gear while im yelling "get up get up we're late!!" which doesnt usually work.. lol but as soon as i hollar "QUICK AS A BUNNY TEAM WORK!!!" her eyes snap open and shes running as fast as i am in sync with everything like we are a fine oiled machine! shes tossing jeans on while im shoving a granola bar into her face...as she runs by with a tooth brush in her mouth shes tossing oatmeal cookies at me to stuff into her backpack.. shes tying shoes while im brushing her tangled mess head of hair out and twisting it into a braid.. we hit the door with her flinging my jacket at me, and me flinging hers at her, and weve managed to not only be ready in time.. but have 2 minutes to spare to play tic tac toe in the dirt with a pair of sticks before the bus comes rolling down the street! LOL not my favorite way to spend the morning, but its good test to work together and have it all come out right

Well I did have some help from my 7 year old which is why I managed to get out as quick as I did! With having a 2 year old it was a bit of a mither, had to try and do myself and her at the same time! Plus then I had all the aggro before leaving the house! It sounds like you and your daughter have a good relationship.

Yes I have and what an awful thing it is !!!it happened to me when I was working more than oncew and its so darn frustrating...the alarm goes off and you look at it,then you turn aroiund for just five more minutes an that turns into half an hour and then thats you all behind like a cows tail!!..but the funny thing is that no matterhow late i was getting up...I always managed to get ready in time and i always managed to put my makeup on..now thats daft..but i could never go to work without my make up ..no way!!!!!

Yep, I even managed to get a bit on, just to make me look decent. Did the rest when I got back.

This has only happened to me a couple of times but it isn't a nice way to start the day. You did well getting the kids to school so fast!

oversleeping - I also had the same case happen to me when I overslept, but I could not make it and was late for what I was not supposed to.
Hello dear gemini_rose. You are great to have made it in time sending your kids to school in spite of your oversleeping. I am very happy for you to have got up with still enough time left to make it. Well, I also had the same case happen to me when I overslept, but I could not make it and was late for what I was not supposed to.

Fantastic! That's quite a feat! Ha!Ha!Ha! Oh yes, it did happend to me for a couple of times already. It's a good thing I'm one fellow who can do things as quick as I want and could really go through and forego whatever is not needed just to make it for my job or whatever appointment I should not miss. But you know, this is very, very stressing and really I swear I hope would never want to happen again but sometimes there are things that keep me late at night so I really can't avoid.

Many times and most of the time it's because we have either had a late night or my alarm didn't go off LOL We almost slept in this morning because of the storm last night (we were a bit restless). We had to run for the bus this morning even though it's just around the corner LOL and just got there in time.

No. I usually end up being at least a few minutes late. Especially now that I have my daughter to get ready too. My son gets on the bus right in front of the house, so that is not something I have to deal with. He still does sometimes miss the bus, but I have 45 minute to get him to school after he misses the bus and it only takes about 12 minutes to get to the school by car.
