Compare to other religions, why lot of idols are there in Hinduism...All specified names are really a god or something created by humans? Street by street, city by city, state by state,a lot of people worshipping different idols and god.. who is the head for all idols? is he really a god? I want to know the proper answer for the things happened in our country?

As far as I have observed, Hinduism is a very liberal philosophy. I sometimes compare Hinduism to the English language. The English language has taken words for different other languages but it has still remained English. Similarly, Hinduism incorporates a variety of strains of thoughts, Gods, and philosophies. It is a diverse way of life. What I love the most about Hinduism is their liberal, tolerant attitude to other religions, faiths, cultures, and philosophies. It is only the Hindus who haven't tried to convert others to their faith. Rather, they have accepted the truth and beauty of other faiths. Regarding the Hindu pantheon, there are around three crore gods. Most of them are nature gods presiding over rain, sea, water, sun, moon, and so forth. I guess this is because Hinduism has a great regard for nature and sees aspects of the Divine in it. Hinduism is a unique faith that sees the Divine not only in natural bodies but also in plants, animals, and human beings. No wonder then, for the Hindus, a cow is also divine, and a woman is a goddess. Now, according to Hindu myths, Indra is the King of the gods. However, even these nature gods worship a higher Being, the Absolute that is omnipresent and omnipotent. Some Hindus consider this Great Power to be Shiva, others think it is Vishnu. Some regard the trinity..Brahma, the creator; Vishnu, the protector; and Shiva, the destroyer. If you observe the world carefully, you see all the three forces at work, creation, sustenance, and destruction. That for Hindus is the Ultimate God, who is everywhere and in all things. Hinduism is one of my favorites, maybe because I live in a Hindu land. :)

Hi positive, your thinking is always positive,so why isn't so exception . You mentioned cow is also divine, woman is also goddesss. I am not agree that.. Cow is a animal, woman is also a human beisg like you.. why do you worship all those unnecessary thinks? Next you said about nature.. Nature is nature created by god. Please put the point god is one in your mind.. Worshipping is different from respecting.. it is better you respecting all those things instead of worshipping.. Hinduism here likewise only.. God also not desire to worship all those things sun, moon, rain etc... I expect your reply...

Hi Sen, you ASKED a question and I answered it. That's all.. I don't know the whys of Hindu belief. I simply told you about Hinduism because you started a discussion on it, and I usually respond to all the discussions of my friends. Now, you seem to think I am a Hindu. I have NO RELIGION. I know a bit of most religions because the subject of religion interests me. And I just told you that Hinduism is one of my favorites. That doesn't mean I practice. Frankly, I am too busy to pray to 30 crore gods. Cheers and happy mylotting.
