Hello Mylot friends!! I am looking to purchase a digital camera in a few months and i dont wnat to spend a arm and a leg for one. I would like for it to have good picture quality and show up on real nice once it is time to print the pictures out. Have a very good memory capacity and basically is just a good camera. I am not trying to be a photographer or anything like that. Just want something that to take pics of my family friends and myself. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what kind i should be looking into and the price?

sorry if Im getting here too late but I have a Canon Powershot (A570IS) and Im really happy with it. I bought it from Ritz camera store in the mall after several trips back n forth and bought a 1GB memory card and that fits up to 360 pictures, the pixels are 7.1 and i can take really nice pictures of insects with it and butterflies with the "upclose button", lol, thats what I call it its on the back and has a little icon of a flower with the letters MF next to it, but thats what is so great that I can get great pics and Im no professional. I have a membership for printing photos at Ritz but found I do not need it and the local pharmacy is cheaper (Walgreens).

My first ever digital camera, the one before the Canon, was a Pentax with a 3 pixelation and I was never dissatisfied with that one but certainly the higher pixelation does help but 7 is good for the average person. We were thinking we needed the highed one first going in but found that was not the case and it takes up more memory. If I had the choice of any camera it would be the Sony cybershot--I was so impressed when I ran into some kid in a club who took a picture in near pitch black and the picture on teh LED screen came out light as day!

I have a Casio Exilim 10.1 mega pixels (EX-Z1050) which was fairly cheap one I got it, maybe about £100. It's good quality, light (Ideal for carrying around all day) and easy to use. I bet since I bought it they have come down in price. Actually scrap that, I just looked on amazon.com and it seems to be really expensive over there. http://www.amazon.com/Casio-Exilim-EX-Z1050-Digital-Optical/dp/B000MXMP1W/ref=pd_bbs_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1212690133&sr=8-11 Up until I had this I had a really good kodak one, it was a bit clunky but had lots of features and the photos always looked great. http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-EasyShare-DX7630-Digital-Optical/dp/B0001G6UAM/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1212690373&sr=1-22 In a way I preferred my old one as it seamt more professional but my newer one is handier for carrying around and taking away with me. -Sorry this post is so long-

I agree, I have a Casio Exilim and it has been a great camera. I love the anti-shake feature because it keeps my pictures in better focus. It has lots of different ways to take pictures and also does short videos. It is the best camera I have ever owned. I didn't pay for mine. I won it on Gamevance. That makes it even better..lol
