polifone and real tone ?

I am not really sure what is meant by this but from my music studies, a polyphonic piece of music has several melodies playing at the same time enabling the creation of harmonies or chords. This must refer to a cell phone's capability to play tones together. Real tone on the other had could be actual music different from the synthesized ones created by a sound chip. I'm not sure what it means but without seeing the specs this is what I could say. Cheers!!
