What was the most generous thing you ever did for a perfect stranger? Maybe it was just stopping to help a car that was broken down on the roadside or even something they never knew that you did for them? Peoples generosity is amazing.

When I was younger my mother had a friend that was really old probably in her late 90's. She had lived in the same house for years. She had alot of health problems were she couldn't get around to clean and her house had accumlated alot of filth over the years. I went there and cleaned her entire house from top to bottom for free. After that I went once a week and cooked her meals.

That was so nice. Did you enjoy visiting with her? I am sure that she appreciated having someone there.

I can think of several instances that you helped someone out right off the top of my head. And each time i am glad that you are the father of my children!

Once my spouse saw a homeless man sleeping on a bench outside a local store. He took off his jacket and gave it to the homeless man to wear. When I found out, I felt so humbled and wished that I did more for less advantaged people. Once when we were traveling, we came upon a man who was a disabled vet and was standing at the side of the road with a sign, that read, "Will work for food." My spouse drove to a near-by McDonalds and bought a bag of burgers and gave the burgers to the man. I thought that was sweet. Sometimes, even when I can't offer money to others, I try to give advice and emotional support.

ie what we can say social service, and it is suppose to be a part of human and if its not there then there will not be any difference between animal and human, i am also considering it a feel good concept, when ever i assist some one that gives me a different feeling.

Yes, it should be a part of life but these days it is so dangerous that a lot of times people choose safety first.

A neighbor knocked on my door about 11:30 pm and asked me to give him a ride across town to pick up medicine for his diabetic mother. I didn't know him or his mother, but I grabbed by youngest son (who is 19) and drove him to his destination and back. On the way he told me that he did not have enough money for the medicine, so I gave him $15.00. I didn't know whether he was telling me the truth or not, but what if his mother was really ill and in need of her medication? I would hate to think that I could have helped and didn't.

Well, one day about ten years ago my husband and I was on our way into Wal-Mart and this fellow was sitting on the curb shivering. It was winter time. I went to the back of the store and got him a dinner and brought it out to him. Then as I walked away I heard this little voice say 'now give him all your money' I only like 20 dollars but I went back and gave it to him.

Cj, it is hard for me to say what is generous about what I do for friends and strangers. I try to pay it forward every chance I get, so I don't like to toot my own horn when it comes to giving back, just that we do is what I feel is important.

I've paid somebodies toll before. We also stopped to help a woamn who was stranded with two kids in the car on the top of a mountain. I think we just called the police because she was afraid to drive off the mountain.
