Why mylot ask users to choose best response?

I have seen that some of the discussions started several months before, are still active and getting new responses. So, i think by selecting best response, we are actually trying to close the chapter and make it inactive. Do we really need to do that?

i think its not a way of ending the discussion..its just giving away the necessary credit to those who deserve it..there are small points given for the user that had been chosen as your best respondent for a specific post

hi...then we can judge the response based on ratings itself na? 'best' means there can only be one response which is considered to be fitting reply for the topic right? if so, how can one be sure that he will not get a better response in future? could there be a 'better' response than the 'best' one?

as for me..i choose best response when there is no more respondents in my topic..thats the only time that i will choose a best respondent..but sometime you can see a response that really passed what you are looking for in a n answer so i just dont wait anymore..i give them the award.

You can choose the best respond while you see someone reply really good. Reply after this you can give them +. Maybe MyLot can change the rules and allow us to choose more than one good respond.

That's a good suggestion for mylot. However, I think rating the answer will be a better option. In my opinion, choosing best response will make sense only if the person who started the discussion has the power (given by mylot of course!) to close the topic and stop further discussions. That is, if the person who started the discussion is satisfied with any, or more replies that he has got, then he can close it and choose one of the replies as the best.
