Does your family eat together every night?

Mine doesn't yet. Mostly this is because my son hates everything I fix unless it is bacon, hot dogs or sweet.

This is a very good habit. Good to know it is not a dying art.

Family dinner time is always a great idea even after we are grown. I wish my family was that close, but its not. I am going to make the effort for things to be different with mine.

we used to eat together on all of our meals. but when we all became adults, we never eat together. it's just sad. i hope you get to enjoy your meals with your child because when he grows up he might be always busy and have no time to eat meals with you.

I anticipate that he will never be too busy. Well, maybe during college. While they are in college, I will be traveling the country. And maybe, if its not too bad outside the country.

Not every day, but we try it. John is very active and he still doesn't eat the same food as ours. Sometime when we come home he had his dinner already. But when we have friends over and at the weekends, it's really nice to be at the same table eating together!!!!

It is definately better than having one do homework and eat it their room, another plopped in front of the tv and the other sitting across from you reading the paper. It is not quite that bad at my house, but we don't even try right now because my 5 year old can't sit still and we would rather eat seperate than spend the whole meal nagging the kiddo to sit in his chair and eat. Poor parenting at its best for the moment, but when he is old enough to actually listen to why we want to eat together, then it will get better.

Hello there, Well we dine together if we are at home. Usually we r not together all r travelling. Its actually a very good habbit to eat together. Its not about the food but the togetherness which is so important in a family. IAm sure yr kid is small and he is not aware of waht he is denying. Just tell him that " United we stand, divided we fall'. Cheers, Tutul

He is fairly young yet. And it is a fact that home made food is far better for you than restaurant stuff. For sure there is more often than not, less chemicals at least. Every little bit helps to extend ones life and keep that much more fat from piling on.

I can understand that. I am going to have to find some middle ground between right now when he is too young to sit still and later when he is too busy off working, sports and dating to have dinner with.
